Ralph Filmore Movie?

"That's some of the BEST work I've ever seen. And I think the idea is AMAZING. You should try to get it made into a cartoon series." says Kevin Grevioux the creator, screenwriter and actor in Underworld. My plans exactly. I felt honored opening my E-mail to read those comments from Kevin. I can also see a Ralph Filmore CG animated movie. I imagine a look much like The Incredibles but with monsters.

I've already started plotting new Ralph story ideas and other books. For example-- Ralph Filmore Paranormal Investigator™ "Campfire Tales" will be an anthology of short spooky stories featuring various artists and writers. Steve Niles, Ben Roman and Skottie Young are among the many talents I hope to work with on this project. I also plan to start working on "Ralph Filmore's Junior Guide to Paranormal Investigation." This book will basically show kids how to carry out their own paranormal investigations with simple things they can find around the house. I've learned a lot by working on this book. I've even joined a local paranormal group that hunts for ghosts (unfortunately I haven't seen any yet). I plan to share a lot of info within the book.

Pedro and I worked closely via MSN during the making of the "Ralph Filmore" title.

This is a shot from one of the pages in the book. We were discussing the look of this character.

I just have to testify... The internet has made it easy for collaborators to communicate. Pedro lives in Spain and I in America.

The Story!

Hollow Creek is a small rural town where not much happens, but that is about to change, and not for the better. After long forgotten evil is accidentally released from over 300 years of banishment, eleven year old paranormal investigator, Ralph Filmore is every kids’ hero as he goes from middle school classroom by day to paranormal private I by night (until 9 PM that is).

With the help of his friend/ partner in slime; Booker, his trusty robotic supercomputer; Z, and his ghostly canine companion, Specter-- they must race across town to locate the Ancient Necromancer’s Scroll which is rumored to have the power to blacken the skies, crumble mountains, and resurrect the dead.
I’m sure you know this will not be an easy task for this young supernatural sleuth and his friends. One of the worlds’ most powerful magician, Mortimer Bain is back and he wants the scroll. But his powers are weak and so he can’t take physical form. He needs a host. A body. Any body. Without it he can only be seen as mist. He has the ability to assume the identity of anyone he’s in contact with. Mortimer’s powers are limited until he regains custody of the scroll. With it, the dead shall walk the Earth and the living shall walk among them as the living dead. It’s up to Ralph and his friends to wrangle up the sinister magician and his undead minions before midnight on Halloween.

Ralph Filmore Paranormal Investigator is a 3 part comic mini-series perhaps the younger generation can embrace and enjoy, but hopefully the older audience will also see as pretty cool. Ralph combines kids’ favorite elements-- action, monsters, and cool gadgets. I think the attractive look and the fun, adventurous nature of the comic book would lend itself to a video game perfectly. I could easily see an animated cartoon spin-off and collectible action figures with the highly stylized look of the characters.

Sneak Peek!

Here is a sneak peak of two pages from Ralph Filmore #1. As you can see, the artwork is really cool. But this is just icing on the cake. The story combined with it makes a great treat!

Vampires, Aliens, Ghosts and Gremlins... Beware!

Vampires, Aliens, Ghosts and Gremlins... Beware!
There is a new hero in the entertainment world and he goes by the name, Ralph Filmore.

Ralph Filmore is just your average, everyday, tweenaged Paranormal Investigator. He may be the youngest and possibly the world's greatest Paranormal Investigator. Ralph hunts down and challenges all things strange and bizarre on a daily basis. He unwittingly solves "out of this world" (literally) mysteries. But he's still the shortest kid in the 6th grade, still gets picked on by bullies, and still gotta be in bed by 9 PM. More often than not, Ralph's serious obsession for paranormal phenomena gets him into heaps of trouble. With his best friend/partner in slime, Booker, his trusty robotic supercomputer, Z and his ghostly canine companion, Specter, Ralph protects the people of Earth from extraterrestrial and supernatural threats.
